interpreter or translator jobs in the US or Canada?
miss_r_y_a asked:
Is there a good job opportunity for translators and interpreters in the US and Canada? I speak Italian, French, Spanish and English. I’m undergoing Chinese language course as well. Can I be employed in schools, corporations or hospitals?
Thank you.

I know where you can get lots of jobs (even in the USA) if you speak Arabic, Dari, Farci, or Pushtu.
I don’t know about jobs, but I applaud your skills. I am fluent in Spanish, Italian and English; I am currently learning Arabic but it’s a HARD language.
Your skills will definitely be needed somewhere. Chinese, great idea!!!

Canada will LOVE you.
You need to have at least 1 years work experience in your chosen field before you can apply. 4 years is better - gives you more points.
You must meet the following minimum requirements to apply as a skilled worker:
You have at least one continuous year of full-time, paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment.
Your work experience must be Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC).
You must have had this experience within the last 10 years.
NOC list
assessment test - you must get 67 points to qualify.
This is to apply for PR in Canada - from US takes about 2 years to be processed. Any other country may take longer.
There are always places looking for different language skills, especially since Canada is so diverse.
Hiya, you can try freelance. I’m sure that with your language combinations you can find numerous jobs. I recommend you some websites that pay great for freelance translators. Maybe they will help:
Good luck with your search!
