From Canada, considering study abroad for a highschool semester ?

Okay here goes,
there’s tons of foreign exchange students at my school from like so many diffrant places. But i never hear anything about Canadian teenagers going off and exploring new cultures? Do they even offer it for teens like me? If they do, would i have to travel to a country in that does not use my first language as thier’s? I can speak french fluently but i was thinking more like Australia than the France.
experience, suggestions, ideas??

    Of course you can go! Your probably the perfect canidate! And defenitely you can go to a country that doesn’t speak your language. It;s great to learn a new language! I’m pretty sure canadians do go on exchanges… Check out this website?

    Bien sûr que les Canadiens peuvent partir à l’étranger! Je te conseille AFS, une association très sérieuse qui a beaucoup d’expérience.

    Je te conseille aussi d’aller dans un pays où l’on ne parle ni français ni anglais: comme ça, en plus d’apprendre à vivre dans une autre culture, tu apprendras une langue étrangère. Mais si tu n’aimes vraiment pas les langues ou si tu veux à tout prix améliorer ton anglais, l’Australie est peut-être le meilleur choix.

    Il faut surtout commencer tout de suite. Le processus de candidature prend déjà beaucoup de temps, sans parler du passeport et du visa que tu devra acquérir.

    Comme tu peux le constater je sais écrire en français, alors que je vis dans un Etat (des USA) où il n’y a quasiment aucun francophone. C’est parce que moi aussi j’ai passé un an à l’étranger, spécifiquement en France. Ca m’a vraiment ouvert l’esprit et j’ai aussi pu apprendre une langue très belle et vraiment utile. N’aie pas peur; lance-toi! Et bonne chance!
