ask your fiance
Visit first! Don’t make plans to move unless you have a nice long visit and a chance to observe him in his native environment. My husband is from Romania and when we go back to RO, even he is different. He is very bossy to his whole family (inc. me) and very confrontational with his parents. You need to make sure that he can keep his behavior acceptable while you are there. There are many people that when they get back into their “comfort zone” their behavior changes. I have a friend that went to live with her Moroccan boyfriend in Morocco. He was verbally, but not physically abusive when they were in the US, but within a week of arriving in Morocco, she had a black eye and a hairline fracture at the top of her nose. I’m not dissing foreign guys, I think they’re great, but I am just saying that a visit will assuage your doubts and you will get to see him and his family so you can make an educated decision that is best for you and your children.
