Canada–Are most people bilingual in French and English?

Bob B asked:

So English and French are both official in Canada but I have some questions………
I’ve heard that it is mandatory in English speaking provinces to learn French from grade 1—Is that true? And are most bilingual by the time they finish school?

Also in Quebec the main language is French, but do they learn English from grade 1? Are they bilingual?

My last question—Is Quebec the only French speaking Province in Canada?
@ Shut yo mouf
Isn’t Montreal a city in Quebec??

What is the easiest way for a Canadian to immigrate to Brazil?

liz c asked:

I was in South America for 4 months this summer, first learning spanish. I then travelled throughout Brasil for 2 months and feell in love with the people, culture and beauty of the country, as well as learning some portuguese by conversing with many locals. Now I really want to live in Rio! Now I know that I lived there as a gringo, so its different from living, but I want to try to live there anyway.
So my question is;
I am finishing my communications degree this year and I want to know which way is easier to immigrate.
By applying to a language school (to improve my port) and then applying to university
or, by trying to find some form of work through canada.
The thing is, I really want to work in Media, as in the film industry, and I know that it would be very hard to get that kind of work lined up in Canada.
So I was thinking it would be easier to go to a Brazilian school to get in with Carioca jobs and contacts, rather than get locked into a job that I dont really want..
